At least you would have something decent in your cart for all those hard earned bucks. I really miss those days when games were sold in large boxes with manuals, posters and goodies. I still have the original game in my cupboard among other FPS games from the 1990's. I really loved the story and the gameplay, spending hours on end on this one. the gameplay was very compelling and gripping, intense, dark, sinister and totally captivating. Therefore I had to buy Dark Forces in the Netherlands to obtain and play an uncensored version of the game. So unless you were happy with that you could buy anything but for the hardcore fan there was only one way out: buying from abroad. An ego shooter set in the Star Wars Universe.īloody thing was that it was censored in Germany (yes, they totally mutilated software in Germany by removing all blood and nudity and replacing humans with robots and what have you).
So I was totally excited to hear about Star Wars - Dark Forces. It all started with the Apogee games, then the ID Software games of course and so forth. In the 1990's I was an avid and devoted fan of ego shooters (aka first person shooters).
